As more people discover the hidden pleasures of Virginia's Eastern Shore, the focus of recreational activities has moved from one solely directed at water sports and fishing to land based forms of sport from bicycling to golf.
In addition to the splendid facilities at the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club in Melfa Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club, the Eastern Shore recently saw the opening of a splendid new golf venue which has been rated in national publications as in the top 10 of new golf courses in the United States at the Bay Creek Golf Club in Cape Charles Bay Creek Golf Club. Bay Creek just announced the opening of their new Jack Nicklaus designed course.
In a recent article Golf Digest suggested that rather than seeking a location which keeps the guest occupied around the clock, golfers look for the same measure of comfort and relaxation at the the end of a strenuous day that fishermen have come to expect from the Fisherman's Lodge.
