Fishing Opportunities

The Fisherman's Lodge was initially built in the 1930's to provide accommodations for visitors to Virginia's Eastern Shore who had learned of the fantastic sport fishing possibilities available inshore in the bays behind the Barrier Islands, off shore in the Atlantic, as well as on the bay side in the Chesapeake. Charter boats from Quinby, Wachapreague, and Willis Warf continue to offer anglers opportunities to pit their skills against some of the best fishing on the East Coast for bluefin tuna at the 21 or 26 Mile Hills, excellent wreck fishing for sea bass or tautog, inshore for trout, drum and croakers, or offshore for marlin, tuna & dolphin. In addition tournaments are held annually for both Rockfish and Flounder.

A good resource for information on both offshore and inshore fishing is Don's Tackle Shop on Route 180 in Wachapreague.
